Open Source at Weekly Wildcat

Our team writes the software that publishes Weekly Wildcat and the software that runs the screens around Ninety Six High School. We keep that code public so other student newsrooms and schools can learn from it, borrow it and make it better.

Newsroom platform

Byline

The software behind Weekly Wildcat: the public website, the newsroom tools our editors use and the shared theme that gives the paper its look.

  • A static Astro website with no public server to run
  • A WordPress plugin for editing, planning and publishing
  • An optional Discord bot for newsroom workflows
  • Shared packages for content, themes and design
